BOTTLE GENTIAN CLOSED BOTTLE GENTIAN (Gentian Family)
in the Peacock Prairie at the James Woodworth Prairie Preserve
Leaves slender-pointed. Blue-violet flowers 1-11/2” long; flowers closed, with the fringes between the flower lobes slightly longer than
the lobes, which are visible at the tip of the closed flower. At the Peacock/Woodworth Prairie, blooms about the 2nd week of September
through the 1st week of October, and is about 11/2’ (45 cm) high.
