Japanese Forest Grass
Low growing blue-gray tufted, mounding grass adds bold
color and texture to the garden. Salt tolerant. Excellent
groundcover for perennial borders or rock gardens.
Bright gray-blue foliage and red-orange fall color. Fluffy,
silver seed heads. Likes hot and dry conditions.
Foliage is green at the base with blood red blades. Striking
when planted in masses.
White and green striped foliage that transitions to pink in
autumn. Great for rock gardens or as a low path edging.
Tufted, gracefully arching green mound. Gold in fall. Buff
bottlebrush spikes August-October.
A tufted mound of narrow foliage. It sends up long stalks in
June that are topped by airy, yellow-green seed heads.
Blooms are most profuse in sun but grows well in shade.
Dense and dramatic gold stripping from the base of the grass
to its top. Upright and compact in habit. Burgundy seed
heads appear in October.
Green, narrow leaves form a clump producing silvery seed
heads. Very drought tolerant once established.
Dense mounds of blue-gray leaves gently spray upward and
arch back downward at the tips. Small, tan seed heads
appear on tall stems held well above the foliage.
Sedge with distinctive white striped foliage and a healthy
growth rate. Great as a groundcover.
Sedge with an upright habit that does well in prairie and wet
prairie locations.

Zebra Grass
A graceful, elegant-looking grass with narrow leaves with a
silvery midrib. Feathery finely textured creamy flowers
appear in September or October. Use as a specimen,
background or screen.
An upright, clumping grass producing narrow leaves with
silvery white edges. Reddish-bronze flowers appear in fall,
maturing to a creamy color. Makes an ideal background,
hedge or screen planting.
Lovely white-striped foliage in a loosely upright clump that
creates a graceful effect, turning almond in fall. White whisklike plumes emerge in late summer. Grow as a freestanding
specimen or in a mixed border.
Begins as a small green mound in early spring and then
becomes vase-shaped. In mid-summer, seed heads soar 3’
above the foliage. Stunning golden yellow fall color. Great
specimen or looks lovely planted in masses.
Tight, upright and considerably hardier than other varieties.
Bright green foliage with golden horizontal banding. Blooms
in September with reddish-fan shaped seed heads. Will grow
in wet areas.
Clump forming perennial grass that blooms 2-3 weeks earlier
than other grasses. Upright creamy flower spikes turn to
golden tan and are held from summer into winter. Excellent
for background plantings or as cut flowers.
This vase-shaped switch grass has blue gray foliage that turns
a deep gold color in the fall. Foliage grows to about 7’; airy
seed heads reach 8’. Can grow in just about any landscape
condition. This plant requires a lot of room.
A clumping, warm season grass that is very handsome. Its
stiff, metallic-blue leaves form a tight upright clump. In the
fall the foliage turns bright yellow.
By July dark red tones appear on the leaves, then the whole
plant turns a powerful burgundy in late fall. Flowers in late
summer with plumes/airy panicles with a rose tint.
Leaf blades are green with irregularly spaced yellow, zebrastriped, horizontal bands.
Grasses 8’ and Over
Hardy Pampas Grass
Fast
Robust, dense foliage with medium gray-green leaves. Tall
silvery flower spikes rise above the foliage in late summer,
maturing to a fluffy, cream color.
