Ornamental Features:
Sun Drop Bidens features beautiful yellow daisy flowers at the ends of the stems from late spring to mid
fall, which are most effective when planted in groupings. It's tiny deeply cut ferny leaves remain green in
color throughout the season. The fruit is not ornamentally significant.
Landscape Attributes:
Sun Drop Bidens is an herbaceous annual bedding plant with a mounded form. It brings an extremely fine
and delicate texture to the garden composition and should be used to full effect.
This is a relatively low maintenance annual bedding plant, and should not require much pruning, except
when necessary, such as to remove dieback. It is a good choice for attracting butterflies to your yard. It
has no significant negative characteristics.
Sun Drop Bidens is recommended for the following landscape applications;
- General Garden Use
- Mass Planting
- Container Planting
- Border Edging
- Rock/Alpine Gardens
Plant Characteristics:
Sun Drop Bidens will grow to be about 12 inches tall at maturity, with a spread of 16 inches. Its foliage
tends to remain dense right to the ground, not requiring facer plants in front. Although it's not a true
annual, this fast-growing plant can be expected to behave as an annual in our climate if left outdoors over
the winter, usually needing replacement the following year.
This annual bedding plant should only be grown in full sunlight. It is very adaptable to both dry and moist
growing conditions, but will not tolerate any standing water. It is considered to be drought-tolerant, and
thus makes an ideal choice for a low-water garden or xeriscape application. It is not particular as to soil
type or pH. It is highly tolerant of urban pollution and will even thrive in inner city environments. This plant
can be propagated by cuttings.
This is a selected variety of a species not originally from North America.
