PERENNIAL SEDGE - grasslike.
1' high, clumplike.
Slender, creeping, red rhizomes.
Leaves purplish-brown becoming straw-colored above, needlelike.
Flowers inconspicuous.
Native habitat: moist, often sandy places, many plant communities - coastal southern California to desert edges, to Lake
County Texas, Florida.
Full sun to part shade.
Needs wet conditions.
Good around ponds and under leaky faucets.
