WISE WOMAN ‘CRONING’ CEREMONY
Welcome to all the Wise Women who have registered for this sacred ceremony created
especially for women that I have created. Parvati Erickson will open and close the circle
for the ceremony and I will lead the rest of the proceedings.
We have a large group of nearly 30 women so I have planned things to suit a larger
group. The ceremony will contain all the sacredness of ceremony and ritual and all I ask
is that you come with an open heart and mind to receive the gifts that will be shared
and freely given and that they be received with love and grace. Leave all preconceived
ideas behind as you enter the scared space and may you leave with more than you
came.
Things to bring for the ceremony:
 If you have one, a cloak or a special/favourite shawl, scarf, or stole will be fine
 Something to be crowned with – this can be a tiara, a wreath of leaves or flowers
(fresh or artificial) or a small fascinator or such like.
 A small symbol to be given away eg: a shell, crystal, stone, flower, candle, etc.
 A short affirmation on a card celebrating women and their gifts that you will gift
someone in the ceremony
Part of the process in this ceremony is a time of healing and ‘letting go’ so think about
what needs healing in your life and what you would like to ‘let-go’ in your life.
Also think about what you would like to bring into your life or a ‘gift’ you would like to
ask for and what you really want to celebrate in your life.
Sometimes we will be working in a large group, sometimes in smaller groups or in pairs
during the ceremony.
The Goddesses we will be honouring, as part of this Pagan ‘Wise Women’ Ceremony will
be:
The Maori Earth Mother, Papatūānuku, the Greek Earth Mother, Gaia, the Indian Earth
Mother, Aditi, the Norse Earth Mother, Erda and the Celtic Earth Mother, Danu.
As well as the Greek Goddesses:
Hekate – Death, divination, last menstruation, midlife
Artemis – Friendship, physical strength, wildness
Athena – Opening up to creativity, wisdom, the warrior spirit & peace
and the Celtic Goddess: Brigit/Brigid – Healing, creativity & inspiration, poetry &
writing, the fires of the home
Go well and blessed be and so mote it be. Any queries just contact me.
