Common name/s
Crepe Myrtle ‘Tuscarora’
Origin
China (Lagerstroemia indica)

Description
Crepe myrtle ‘Tuscarora’ is a deciduous tree with an
oval shaped canopy and upright branching that can
reach a height of up to 6 metres.
Like many Crepe Myrtle cultivars available today
Tuscarora is a hybrid of Lagerstroemia indica and
Lagerstroemia fauriei.
This pairing provides
resistance to powdery mildew to which
Lagerstroemia indica alone is susceptible.
It has glossy dark green leaves that change to
yellow, red and orange in autumn. New leaves have
a bronze tint.
In summer, crepe myrtle ‘Tuscarora’ produces
showy candy pink flowers and features exfoliating
bark which reveals attractive mottled trunks from
cinnamon brown to pale cream tones.
