• Pärnu was founded in 1251 AD.
• Pärnu is a hanseatic city.
In Pärnu you can find
• Hot sandy beaches.
• Beautiful promenade.
• Two breakwaters.

• Created in 1958 .
• Whole area 371,4 hectares.
• Natura 2000.
2. Tervise Paradiis

• opened in 2004.
• In the beach area in Pärnu.

• Built 1935 – 1937.
• Main building of the Estonian Health Rehabilitation
center.

• The length of the conservation area is 189 km
• belongs to the Natura 2000
• Protected species:

(Lampetra fluviatilis)

(Petromyzon marinus)
11. Endla theatre
• First built in 1911, then built up again in 1967 in the
other location, not far from the first one.

• created in 1925
• beautiful surrounding where it's perfect to just sit,
watch the babbling of fountain and relax on a
sunny day.

located, now in
front of the hotel
you can find a
little memorial.

Vana park is under protection
• oldest park in Pärnu founded at the
beginning of the 19th century.
• There is a playground for little children and
place to sit and cool off on a sunny day.

In the city territory you can find many different preserves:
1 nature preserve — Pärnu Coastal Meadow Protection
Area
2 landscape preserves — Niidu landscape preserve and
Pärnu landscape preserve
2 conservation areas — The Gulf of Pärnu conservation
area and The River Pärnu conservation area
6 parks — Annemõisa park, Lydia Koidula park, Munamäe
park, Vana park, Rannapark and Valli park
Pärnu Coastal Meadow Protection Area : made to
protect rare and endangered plant and bird species
• Niidu landscape preserve : made to protect the
ecosystem and landscape of Niidu forest.
• Pärnu landscape preserve : made to protect green
forest landscape and species habitat
• The Gulf of Pärnu conservation area : made to protect
birds and their habitats
• The River Pärnu conservation area : made to protect
river and stream habitats
• All parks : The purpose of protecting them is to save
their original planning, different trees, culturally,
ecologically, esthetically and recreationally valuable
functions, parks and gardens and also control their
using and developing in the future.
