PÄRNU Summer capital of Estonia !! Sea, sun, hot sandy beaches and friendly people. What more would you want ?! • Pärnu was founded in 1251 AD. • Pärnu is a hanseatic city. Pärnu Costal Meadow Protection Area • Created in 1958 . • Whole area 371,4 hectares. • Natura 2000. 2. Tervise Paradiis spa hotel and water park • opened in 2004. • In the beach area in Pärnu. 3. Beach hotel • Built 1935 – 1937. • Main building of the Estonian Health Rehabilitation center. Protected and rare plant and bird species Dactylorhiza baltica Angelica palustris 4. Beach 6. Ranna Park • 1 km of white sandy beach under the lifeguard protection. • created in 1882. • you can play basketball, volleyball, chess and enjoy bike riding and rollerblading. is under protection 5. The Gulf of Pärnu conservation area • Whole area 102 800 hectars. • 49 protected species. • Internationally important. • Natura 2000. 9. Valli park is under protection two attractions are located there : Vallikäär and Tallinn gate • Vallikäär, which in the past used to be a rampart is now an open-air stage, built in 1970. • Tallinn gate 10. Munamäe park is under protection there is a playground for little children and skate park for those who like extreme sports. 12. The River Pärnu Conservation area • The length of the conservation area is 189 km • belongs to the Natura 2000 • Protected species: European bullhead Spined Loach (Cottus gobio ) (Cobitis taenia) River Lamprey (Lampetra fluviatilis) Sea lamprey (Petromyzon marinus) 11. Endla theatre • First built in 1911, then built up again in 1967 in the other location, not far from the first one. Thick shelled river mussel (Unio crassus) Atlantic salmon (Salmo salar) 13. Lydia Koidula park is under protection • created in 1925 • beautiful surrounding where it's perfect to just sit, watch the babbling of fountain and relax on a sunny day. 14. Hotel Pärnu • built in 1973 • that is the place where the Endla theatre was first located, now in front of the hotel you can find a little memorial. 15. Vana park is under protection • oldest park in Pärnu founded at the beginning of the 19th century. • There is a playground for little children and place to sit and cool off on a sunny day.
