One of the three major flyways for migratory birds,
passes through Turkey.

Management of “Noah’s Ark National Biological Diversity Database” is carried out by “Biological
Diversity Monitoring Unit” (BMU) constituted legally under the Head of Information Technology
Department with the coordination of General Directorate of Nature Conservation and National Parks.
“Noah’s Ark National Biological Diversity Database” serving on www.nuhungemisi.gov.tr webpage
and opened on 18th October 2007 by his honorable Minister Prof. Dr. Veysel EROĞLU,

Benefits for users
Biodiversity data can be directly input dbase by using coordinate system not
necessary using areas,
Biodiversity data is able to Query for timescale, Taxon level (according to Taxon,
families and species level), habitats, areas (whole country, specific areas etc) or
drawing polygon,
The users are able to obtain species distribution maps,
They can follow for changing of Red List categories for each Taxon,
They can monitor for all protected areas,
They can use biodiversity data for important decision making or preparing reports
(site areas, species status etc).
