series or movies. The music is popular because of its numerous intrinsic and extrinsic
qualities.
Why do people want to listen to a Mozart quintet?
• It may have a catchy tune
• It may have an interesting combination of rhythms
• It makes them feel sophisticated in social environment
• They may want to appreciate the skill of the performers
• Sometimes, they may even want to understand how beautiful music is created
