Ex. 2 From an observation tower, the angle of elevation of a weather balloon is 68°.
The balloon is sighted by another person from 35. 0 km away, on the opposite side of the
balloon, where the angle of elevation is 47°. How far is it from the balloon to the tower?
Ex. 3 A squash player hits the ball 2.3 m to the side wall. The ball rebounds at an angle of 100°
and travels 3.1 m to the front wall. Assuming she doesn’t move, how far is the ball from
the player when it hits the front wall?
Ex. 4 A canoeist paddles 3.4 km in a S13°W direction and then 8 km in a N52°W direction.
What distance will she have to travel to return to her original position?
