Participate with them as they take an in-depth look at addiction from both a medical and clinical point of view-assessment, evaluation, detox protocols, treatment planning, treatment exercises and discharge planning. Follow them along on the medical and clinical process of patient care as it relates to the multi-disciplinary approach to treating addiction. Substance abuse and chemical dependency professionals, social workers, probation and parole officers, community corrections professionals, court referral officers, drug court professionals, juvenile justice professionals, and related human service professionals. Participants will learn qualities of good case management in regard to working with chemically dependent clients. Participants will acquire skills to facilitate a client’s recovery process. Participants will learn to recognize pathological behaviors of clients that may sabotage restoration to physical, psychological, social and spiritual health. Participants will acquire skills to redirect unproductive client defense mechanisms into an accurate understanding that can lead to healthy resolution of problems.
