JOB DESCRIPTION Role: Marketing Manager, Avacta Animal Health Location: Thorp Arch Estate, Wetherby Reports to: Chief Operating Officer Duration: Fixed 12-month contract, 2 months’ notice thereafter Hours: Full time with flexible hours considered Travel: Some required supporting 2 exhibitions p.a. Avacta Animal Health Our strategy is to provide vets, directly and through laboratories, with solutions that enable them to diagnose and treat companion animals more effectively. To do this we develop, manufacture or source, market and then support diagnostic solutions and related treatments. We work closely with leading experts in academia and industry and aim to present vets with well researched and evidenced tools that enable faster and more reliable decisions in practice. General Purpose and Scope of this role To implement and manage all marketing for the company and activities to promote their products and services profitably, maintain the brand’s image and offer solutions to customers through business and marketing strategies. The marketing manager will work with product development and commercial teams to manage product and service launches from research and planning through to commercial launch activities. This is a hands on role which is well defined. We welcome ideas and improvements within the existing established framework. Main Duties and Responsibilities Management To define, set and agree the Marketing Plan in line with the company’s strategic objectives, monitor the effectiveness of activities/spend, and produce monthly reports on these. As a member of the ops board, contribute to the direction of the business and setting of the company’s strategic objectives. Manage resource, including some internal support, and provide guidance on marketing activities to support the marketing plan. Oversee the company’s marketing budget. New products and launch activities To manage and deliver product launches of new veterinary laboratory tests, therapies and inclinic devices, from helping form a business case through to commercial launch activities. Market research Review competitor and market information and collate market insight through primary and secondary marketing sources making recommendations on Avacta Animal Health’s test and product launch plans and strategy. Marketing Communications & maintenance of brand image Set and co-ordinate marketing campaigns with sales activities To assess the range of marketing communications across offline and digital channels; advertising, promotions, PR, direct mail, digital and social media, selecting appropriate channels and alongside internal resources, implement the desired communications to promote the company’s product portfolio. 1 of 2 JOB DESCRIPTION Be the guardian of the company’s web presence, ensuring it is at all times consistent with the company’s strategy, branding and targets, and generating new visitors through search engine optimisation, content creation, paid media and social media. Organise events, seminars and webinars and co-ordinate the production of marketing collateral to deliver the company’s objectives. Select and monitor external agencies to support the marketing plan. Misc Assist with the maintenance of the company’s CRM system, ensuring correct usage by all users to fulfil the aim of utilising the database to manage new and existing customers. Person Specification Essential attributes: o Chartered Institute of Marketing Qualified to Diploma level or above or equivalent level. o Minimum 5 years’ experience within marketing, with at least 2 years at a similar level to this role. o The ability to work with a high degree of autonomy, professionalism, care, accuracy and reliability o Exceptional organisational and planning skills o Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills o Team-working skills and the ability to delegate and motivate others o A bold and innovative nature and a desire to be fully involved in driving the growth of the business. o A task focussed individual with the ability to set and work to deadlines Specific requirements: o Proficient use of Microsoft Office packages, CRM systems, CMS packages such as Wordpress. o Experience of setting strategic marketing plans and managing budgets. o Wide range of marketing communications experience covering off-line and online channels 2 of 2
