SHARED FEATURES WORLD RELIGIONS
Name:_________________________
Date:__________________________
Christianity, Judaism and Islam are three of the world’s main religions.
These three religions share a belief in one God and are often referred to as the monotheistic
religions (ie mono - one; theism - God ….. monotheistic - ‘one God’)
While each of these religions has its own distinctive beliefs, rituals and identity, there are also many
features that are shared among them … ie there is more that unites than divides.
For example, all three religions share much in common including:
 Belief in one God (ie monotheistic)
 Specific great religious figures that feature in each of their sacred texts (eg Abraham, Moses
and David).
 All have followers who gather for prayer and worship at sacred buildings or places of worship.
 All have religious leaders.
 All have sacred books / texts.
 All have special days for their followers to come together for worship.
 All have prayers - followers pray and worship.
