SHARED FEATURES WORLD RELIGIONS Name:_________________________ Date:__________________________ Christianity, Judaism and Islam are three of the world’s main religions. These three religions share a belief in one God and are often referred to as the monotheistic religions (ie mono - one; theism - God ….. monotheistic - ‘one God’) While each of these religions has its own distinctive beliefs, rituals and identity, there are also many features that are shared among them … ie there is more that unites than divides. For example, all three religions share much in common including: Belief in one God (ie monotheistic) Specific great religious figures that feature in each of their sacred texts (eg Abraham, Moses and David). All have followers who gather for prayer and worship at sacred buildings or places of worship. All have religious leaders. All have sacred books / texts. All have special days for their followers to come together for worship. All have prayers - followers pray and worship. Using your existing knowledge as well as resources to assist, complete the following table by matching each of the words below with the appropriate category and religion.
