Title of the project
ARM32
Abstract:
Now-a-days, Automated systems have less manual operations, flexibility, reliability and
accurate. Due to this demand every field prefers automated control systems. Especially in the
field of electronics automated systems are giving good performance. In the present scenario of
among such application is Autonomous Robot. Obstacle avoidance robot is a new and innovative
concept.
This project aims at designing and executing the obstacle detection and avoidance robot. A robot
obstacle detection system including a robot housing which navigates with respect to a surface
and a sensor subsystem having a defined relationship with respect to the housing and aimed at
the surface for detecting the surface. The obstacle sensor is a pair sensors has a receiver and a
transmitter sensor. The transmitter sends the signal, and if the receiver senses any of the
transmitted signal it indicates the presence of an obstacle. If the receiver doesn’t sense any signal
it indicates the absence of obstacle. If any obstacle is detected the directions of the robot will be
automaticallychanged.
The robot is fitted with 2 DC geared motors and to control its operation we are using
LPC2148 as controller. In this project we are using LPC2148, DC Geared motors, Obstacle
sensors, and a Buzzer is used to indicate the presence of obstacle. In this project, L293D HBridge is used to drive the geared DC motor.
ARM7TDMI is an advanced version of microprocessors and forms the heart of
the system. This autonomous robot is used to sense the obstacle and navigate the robot in
forward, backward, left, right directions.

war situations, unmanned systems plays very important role to minimize human losses. One

The LPC2148 are based on a 16/32 bit ARM7TDMI-S™ CPU with real-time emulation
and embedded trace support, together with 128/512 kilobytes of embedded high speed flash
code execution at maximum clock rate. For critical code size applications, the alternative 16-bit
Thumb Mode reduces code by more than 30% with minimal performance penalty. With their
compact 64 pin package, low power consumption, various 32-bit timers, 4- channel 10-bit ADC,
USB PORT,PWM channels and 46 GPIO lines with up to 9 external interrupt pins these
microcontrollers are particularly suitable for industrial control, medical systems, access control
and point-of-sale. With a wide range of serial communications interfaces, they are also very well
suited for communication gateways, protocol converters and embedded soft modems as well as
many other general-purpose applications.
This project uses 12v (Lead Acid Battery). This project uses two power supplies, one is
regulated 5V for modules and other one is 3.3V for LPC2148. 7805 three terminal voltage
regulator is used for voltage regulation. Bridge type full wave rectifier is used to rectify the ac
out put of secondary of 230/12V step down transformer.
