I am gynecologic surgeon who specializes in surgery for women with gynecologic cancer. It includes ovarian,
endometrial, cervical, vaginal and vulva cancer. I am certified in Gynecologic Oncology and specialized in the
surgical treatment of known or suspected tumors of the female genital tract. I spent two years at the University of
Montreal training in gynecologic oncology and have completed a Gynecologic Oncology Fellowship.
I work as part of multidisciplinary team of physicians and nurses committed to meeting the individual needs of
patients and their families in a sensitive and supportive environment. Our multidisciplinary team provides a full
range of diagnostic and treatment services as patients utilize a highly individualized program of care.
I am involved in clinical and fundamental research to help in the advancement of ovarian cancer care with
development of innovative research leading to earlier detection and more effective treatment. My main area of
surgical expertise is laparoscopic surgery and fertility-sparing procedures for the treatment of pre-cancerous and
cancerous disease in the female reproductive system.
We perform by laparoscopy procedure as hysterectomy, oophorectomy and lymph nodes dissection for
gynecological cancer. For selected women, having a strong family history of breast and ovarian cancer, we offer
the possibility to perform laparoscopic prophylactic oophorectomy to reduce the risk of ovarian cancer.
In addition to my clinical and research activities at the University Hospitals of Geneva, I am actively involved the
development of gynecologic oncology and formed a partnership with different community hospitals in order to
improve gynecologic cancer care.
I see patients in our Surgical Gynecologic Oncology Unit twice a week and I spent two days in the operating room
each week.
