 Complete Dental and Orthodontic Care for Infants, Children and Teens The foundation of our practice at Yarmosky Pediatric Dentistry is preventive care. During orthodontic treatment preventive care is even more important Because the bands and brackets used to correct the bite can also become hiding places for food and bacteria. This means that orthodontic patients can be at higher risk of developing diseases of the teeth and gums during treatment. In our continuing effort to do everything we can to help our patients maintain good health during orthodontics, we offer the following additional services during the active phase of care: We provide a complimentary cleaning and fluoride treatment at 3 months between your child’s regularly scheduled Yarmosky Pediatric Dentistry 6‐month dental wellness visit. This means your child will have the opportunity to receive 2 Extra cleanings and fluoride varnish applications in a 12‐month period while receiving orthodontic treatment in our office. For your convenience we will couple these appointments with your regularly scheduled orthodontic adjustment visit at no additional cost to you. With few exceptions, we remove all orthodontic wires and attachments in order to provide a more thorough and complete cleaning. We may recommend certain preventive products like special toothpastes, toothbrushes and fluoride rinses, which have proven to be helpful in reducing tooth decay and gum disease while in orthodontic treatment. We will provide you with a detailed evaluation of your child’s oral hygiene at each cleaning visit. At each monthly orthodontic visit we will closely monitor your child’s oral hygiene and overall dental health and inform you of our findings.
