FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE March 7, 2009 CONTACT: Aimee Spencer Foundation Started in Arkansas is Changing the Smile of America Arkansans have another reason to smile. Smile for a Lifetime foundation started in Jonesboro, Arkansas in October 2008 by orthodontist Dr. Ben Burris. Smile for a Lifetime, a nonprofit organization, provides free orthodontic treatment to those who could not otherwise afford braces. “We founded Smile for a Lifetime to help deserving children in desperate need achieve the self-confidence that comes from a straight, healthy smile. A healthy self-image will enable individuals the foundation serves to maximize their potential and to make meaningful contributions to our community,” Burris said. Burris has two chapters of Smile for a Lifetime caring for children - one in Northeast Arkansas and another in Central Arkansas. Burris stated, “More counties in Arkansas will be eligible in the near future as more chapters are developed”. And the smiles are spreading from Arkansas across North America! In February 2009, the Schulman Study Group, www.schulmanstudygroup.com, voted unanimously to adopt Smile for a Lifetime foundation. This alliance with the 125 orthodontic practices in The Schulman Group creates a nationwide charitable foundation with the ability to treat thousands of underserved children annually.
