PRESS RELEASE
Intersolar 2013
Fronius unveils its hybrid inverter for the first time
(Wels, 14.03.2013) Between 19th and 21st June, Fronius International GmbH will be presenting its latest
developments at the Intersolar trade fair in Munich. The highlight on the 512 m² stand will be a
prototype of the Fronius hybrid inverter, which enables self-generated energy to be temporarily stored
with the help of batteries.
“For Fronius, 2013 is the year of innovations. We are excited to be presenting numerous new products at
Intersolar”, says Martin Hackl, head of the Solar Electronics division at Fronius International GmbH.
Fronius hybrid inverter - the flexible storage solution for photovoltaic systems
The Fronius hybrid inverter is used when there is no immediate demand for self-generated solar power by
storing the energy for use at a later time. This means that green electricity can also be used during the night, for
example. Further key advantages include increased self-consumption along with a more independent power
supply. In addition, the power supply is maintained in the event of a grid failure.
Thanks to its modular design, the storage unit can be easily expanded - and the battery retrofitted - at any time.
By harnessing innovative communication channels such as web server, WLAN and Ethernet, system operators
have an overview of their PV system performance constantly at hand. The device will be available in 2014.
Fronius Symo - the compact three-phase inverter for maximum flexibility
Fronius Symo is the compact three-phase inverter from Fronius. The transformerless device guarantees not
only maximum yields but also an optimum symmetrical infeed in the 3.0 kW, 3.7 kW and 4.5 kW power
categories. Thanks to the provision of reactive power and the voltage support, the grid is supported both
statically and dynamically.
The Fronius Symo inverter will be available around the world from the 4th quarter of 2013 ( with the exception of
the USA). One by one, additional power categories will follow. As soon as the Fronius Symo series is launched,
all inverters will be equipped with two MPP trackers. This is particularly advantageous for smaller, irregularly
shaped or orientated roofs.
Fronius Galvo – the future-proof inverter for small self-consumption systems
As a result of the deliberately low power categories, the device enables a high proportion of self-consumption.
The integrated energy management relay with real-time clock provides extremely accurate control over
consumers while further optimising self-consumption. The single-phase system boosts the self-consumption
element even further, since in the case of a single-phase household connection, all consumers are connected
to this phase. The innovative plug-in card technology makes the system future-proof. It also allows functions to
be retrofitted at a later date. Production is due to start in July 2013.
Product innovations as far as the eye can see
Fronius is set to present the new Fronius IG Plus 55 V-1 and V-2 power categories as well as the popular
Fronius IG TL inverter series. Fronius Agilo and the new Fronius Agilo Outdoor will be on display together with
the corresponding Fronius String Controls and service packages. Of particular excitement this year are the
developments surrounding the Fronius DATCOM. Fronius is placing a special emphasis on the new Fronius
Datamanager as well as the Fronius Solar.Web 2, the Fronius Modbus Card and the Fronius Energy
Management Relay.

The Fronius Datamanager is the new generation of the Fronius Datalogger Web in the form of an all-in-one
plug-in card, whereby datalogging, Ethernet, WLAN, LAN and web server are all integrated onto a single card.
Fronius is thus the first to offer a WLAN interface in its inverters. The Fronius IG Plus series, Fronius CL,
Fronius Galvo, Fronius Symo and even the original Fronius IG inverter can be retrospectively equipped with
WLAN. This makes Fronius unique.
The Fronius “24 hours of sun” vision has also been the focus of much attention and will be presented together
with the Fronius hybrid inverter and the Fronius Energy Cell. We look forward to seeing you on our stand in Hall
B4, stand no. B4.210.
