Leadership application package CV! Director of Marketing Curtin Volunteers! provides volunteering and leadership opportunities that enhance the student experience and has benefits for the wider community. Its management team is made up predominantly of students who play an instrumental role in facilitating volunteer programs in the areas of health, culture, youth and the environment. A leadership role in CV! is a great opportunity for you to demonstrate, and further develop a range of skills that will benefit you in your studies and beyond. You will be mentored through your role by Curtin staff and will be given the opportunity to attend personal and professional development training sessions delivered exclusively to the leadership team. These include marketing, career development, conflict resolution and project management workshops. Successful applicants will have a strong interest in volunteering and community service and will meet the essential selection criteria of the role. Director of Marketing Position type: Voluntary Commitment: 6 months Hours per week: 6 to 8 hours per week (flexible - i.e. you may choose which hours you volunteer). Purpose of position The function of this position is to develop and execute marketing strategies for Curtin Volunteers! (CV!). Position dimension Curtin Volunteers! provides volunteering opportunities to students and the wider community by creating and nurturing partnerships with internal and external stakeholders. It facilitates personal and professional development and offers leadership opportunities to its volunteers as they engage in mutually beneficial community initiatives. It sits within the Curtin University structure, operating under Campus and Community Life, Support Services. The CV! Director of Marketing is part of the CV! Management Team and is instrumental in developing and executing effective marketing strategies which create greater awareness of the organisation and its activities on campus and in the community. Key responsibilities include editing promotional and marketing content prior to publication, and managing a marketing team consisting of a Communications Officer, Graphic Designer and Photographer. Reporting and key relationships The CV! Director of Marketing works under the direction of the President and Student Development Officer and manages a Marketing Team. The CV! Director of Makerting will also work closely with the Communications and Engagement Officer (full-time staff member) whose key function is to provide guidance and mentorship. Other key relationships include: Program Directors Accountabilities and responsibilities Planning and strategy In collaboration with the President, Student Development Officer and Communications and Engagement Officer, develop and execute a marketing and communication plan. Provide relevant training to the CV! Management and Support teams to ensure consistency in the delivery of all promotional information. Marketing communications Coordinate and oversee the development and regular update of marketing collateral including (but not limited to): Brochures Newsletters Web content Social media content Photographs and videos (for use in a promotional material) Edit and proof read marketing collateral prior to publication. Events Organise events aimed at increasing membership and brand awareness as per the CV! Marketing and Communications Plan. Program participation Commit to participating in at least one CV! volunteering program. Organisational understanding Maintain an up-to-date knowledge of University policies, procedures and legislation which impact upon work activities and their outcome. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of CV! guidelines and procedures. Compliancy and legislative knowledge Comply with University policies and procedures and relevant legislation.
