Theatre Award The theatre program at Fayetteville State University awards a number of yearly renewable awards ranging from $250-$1000 to promising young theatre students. Awards are achieved by interview, audition and/or portfolio review, and are available in both performance (acting) and production (scenic, lighting, costume, and stage management) areas. In order to ensure the continuation of the stipend, a student must stay in residence for four consecutive years at Fayetteville State University, maintain a 2.5 grade point average and be an integral part of the theatre program. Failure to meet any of these requirements may result in termination of the award. Review of your progress will happen on a yearly basis and will determine the continuation of the award. Please note that the awards are given on a yearly basis and are contingent on appropriate funding for sustainability. To be eligible for an award, an applicant must meet the following requirements: Have maintained a 2.5 GPA in high school. Audition/Portfolio Review during a designated audition date (http://www.uncfsu.edu/arts/theatre-home) Meet all admission requirements for Fayetteville State University (http://www.uncfsu.edu/admissions/apply-now) Apply for financial aid (http://finaid.uncfsu.edu/) Completed the Declaration of Major Form (https://services.uncfsu.edu/departments/Declaration_Major_Minor/index.cfm) Audition/Portfolio Requirements Actors : You should select, prepare and memorize two selections, each approximately sixty (60) seconds in length, from plays with which you are familiar. Design/Tech Theatre Interviews: (costume, scenic, lighting design and stage management). You will be asked to bring a portfolio (digital or hard copy) of your work.
