Precourt Fellows Application: Students
The 2016 Behavior, Energy and Climate Change (BECC) Conference is the tenth annual
conference focused on the practical applications of social and behavioral research to achieve
viable solutions to energy/climate challenges.
The Precourt Fellows Program provides partial registration scholarships to encourage to
encourage students and post-doctoral students/fellows to participate in BECC. The Precourt
Fellowship is awarded through a competitive application process. This application form is to be
used by graduate/undergraduate students. A separate form is available for post-doctoral
students/fellows.
Graduate/undergraduate students who are selected as Precourt Fellows receive a grant
covering all but $100 of the normal registration fees of BECC. No travel or expense funds are
available.
To qualify, you must be a current student at the time of application, be engaged in studies or
research related to the conference topics, and intend to use and share what you learn from the
conference.
Application Instructions
The application must be submitted via email. Applications that are not emailed will be
ignored. Submit the application in the following way:
 Email attachment 1: the one page completed application form saved as in Microsoft
Word or Open Office format.
 Email attachment 2: the same one page completed form, with the signature of an
advisor or professor from your institution. This can be low res (cell phone picture is OK).
 Email body: your name, department, and institution, and the name and department of
the professor who signed the application.
 Send to: [email protected] with “[YourLastName] BECC 2016 Precourt Fellow Student” in the subject line.
Deadline and Notification
 Scholarship applications must be received before Thursday, September 1, 2016.
 Students will be notified of award status by September 30.
 Students who also submit presentation abstracts can request an early decision if the
completed application is received before June 30.
Financial support for students at BECC is provided by Stanford University’s Precourt Energy
Efficiency Center with the additional support, in recent years, of the Alfred P. Sloan Foundation.
