New database will make 'watertight' case for community eye services
« Back
by Maria Axford — last modified May 11, 2015 11:15 AM
A new database will demonstrate the cost effectiveness of community eye services to CCGs, a
leading eye health organisation insists.
Its Data Repository project will provide a compelling evidence base to NHS commissioners for the
adoption of high-street services at scale, says the Local Optical Committee Support Unit (LOCSU).
Announcing plans for the project LOCSU managing director, Katrina Venerus, said: “This will be a real
game changer for community eye health services that could put paid to the fragmented, piecemeal
approach by commissioners.”
