Violinist
Youngest child of Johann Ambrosius Bach
Awarded Choral Scholarship at St. Michael’s School
Learned to speak French & Italian languages
1706 Married his 2nd cousin Maria Barbara Bach & later
in 1720 to Anna Magdalena Wilcke






Composer of the Baroque Time Period
1708-1717 Weimar Organist and Concertmaster
1723 appointed Cantor of Thomasschule at St. Thomas
Church
March 1729 Dictator of the Collegium Musicum
In 1749 Bach became blind
Died in Leipzip on July 28, 1750 at age 65
