Traditional Dharma for Children Tuesday, 29 December 2015 The Mine Town Head Monastery Dharma School supports a very important Weekly Buddist Training School that is a great part of the religious passge for Bhuddists children. These resources help practitioners deepen their understanding of the Dharma through both intellectual and practical guidance from Dharma teachers. The studies include knowledge of the Buddhist texts as well as meditation and Dharma practice instruction, all with the purpose of being applied in the journey through daily life. The Head Monk is Baddanda Sargara (Pariyatti Dharmamarmaka, the Mine Town Head Monk Monastery). There are a group of 5 skilled teachers to lead the children and their names are; Daw Nyein Nyein Htay, Daw Wai Wai Aung, Daw Khin Mar Kyu, Daw Khin Pa PaLwin (a member of the Overall Sagaing Division Committee) and Daw Lei Lei. Ranging from Grade-1 to 1/3 Traditional Dharma for Children Tuesday, 29 December 2015 Grade-5 students are now attending the school. The school was initiated in 2014-2015, it's first year in operations, with the number of students attending at 198. The school for this year 2015-2016 has been training another 175 students. The aim of the school is- (1) To learn the basics of Buddha Dharma for the new generation of youths focusing on a new methodology of modern teaching systems; (2) To become polite, gentle and a peaceful group as loving and treasuring the religion and understanding of the Buddha Dharma; (3) To become Buddhists of high regard using practical life teachings of the Buddha Dharma from Traditional Buddhism; and, (4) To improve the lives of Dharma School students. This includes behaving respectfully to the Three Gems of Veneration (Buddha, Dharma and Sanga), good moral behavior, high brainpower and philosophy, good education with hard working and regular attendance, good communication and relations, positive speaking and daring before people, helping friends, parents and teachers, performing charities, more self confidence, clever, to become well educated and kind hearted sons and daughters, supporting of basic schools, easy saying and admonishing, to attain good habits from the modern learnings and teaching systems from Drachma School, good result in learning and teaching, promoting village lives, decreasing child quarreling and fighting, finding calm and peace within each village as a united soul, attending Drachma School with Drachma School Students and emulating and admiring them as other learning children.
