Skill: “the ability to do something well (OAED) “an
ability to do an activity or job well”(CALD)
Eg – I have no skill in computing; communication
skill; 'furniture-making is a skilled job'.
“Yogaha karmasu kaushalam” [Verse 50, Chap.2
(Sankya yoga)/BG] . Therefore,
“Siddhirbhavathi karmaja”.
So, any skill can be developed – we need to put in
efforts.

someone doesn't have them; you will
certainly notice when yours have
deserted you..

Why should you take interest?
●
●
●
●
First time in your life you are required to
interact with another person(your advisor)
apparently on day-to-day basis.
Your Advisor – and, yourself : No
matchmaking is possible nor attempted in
Indian scenario.
How do you select your advisor?(Topic, career
prospects, advise from elders, seniors,...,
inexplicable!)
His qualities and your qualities: impedance
matching!
IPS for you: to make you a better person

Discussion -after the class
Q1. Could you explain the verse from Gita, again.
A1. This verse in a broader sense emphasises that we
must do any act/job with great care and committment.
Such a job is deemed to be an act of 'Yoga'.
Q2. You seemed to have used 'prospectus, instead of
'prospects' in a slide no.8! What do you mean?
A2. I could not respond immediately! Now, I have
looked into my slides and it is a shame that this
mistake has gone unnoticed! I have now corrected that
slide. Thanks to Mr. Hari. (Note: A diligent student
should learn the difference between the words,
'prospect' and 'prospects'.)
Q3. What is the issue if one doesn't talk to others? I
would like to be non-interfering!
A3. The issue is not of correct or incorrect. If one
does not talk to others, it is as good as prefering
no-interaction! Then, others will not get to know
us! They might even mistake us to be 'arrogant'!
