HELP US FILL OUR
POT OF GOLD!
Thank you for choosing to ‘Be Bold. Go Gold’
this September in support of Childhood
Cancer Awareness Month.
We’re asking schools across the UK to get involved during September for
our ‘Be Bold. Go Gold.’ campaign. As well as raising funds to support
our vital work, you’ll be helping us raise awareness of childhood cancer.
Gold is the international colour of childhood cancer awareness,
with many supporters choosing to wear a gold ribbon throughout
September. Holding a ‘Be Bold. Go Gold.’ event this September is a
simple way of getting involved and making a difference.
We’re here to help with your fundraising. If you want to discuss ideas,
or request more materials to support your event, please get in touch.
Good luck with your fundraising and thank you
again for choosing to support CCLG, helping
us save more young lives.

Your kit includes everything you need to
organise your event, including information

which you can sell at school for £1 each.

Download our PowerPoint about childhood cancer
and CCLG for your school assembly from our website.
There are lots of fun ways your school could raise
funds for CCLG. Why not hold a ‘Be bold. Go Gold’
day with some of our ideas below!
NON-UNIFORM DAY
Ask for donations of £1 in exchange for
wearing your own clothes to school.
Encourage everyone to
wear an item of gold
or yellow clothing.
SPECIAL EVENT
Organise a special event to raise funds,
like a talent show or musical evening.
Hold a gold themed
fashion show, or ‘gold’
songs musical concert.
CAKE SALE
Encourage students to get baking and
sell their goodies at break or lunch.
Add some extra sparkle
to cakes with gold
coloured decorations.
GET SPONSORED
Hold a sponsored walk, cycle, swim or
run. Get active whilst raising funds!
Ask your participants to
wear an item of gold or
yellow clothing.
We’d love to hear about your
day and how you raised funds!
Why not share your pictures with us on our
Facebook page, tweet us using the hashtag
#BeBoldGoGold or email us at [email protected]
with your story and photos which you would be
happy for us to use on our website.

Children’s Cancer and Leukaemia Group is a leading children’s
cancer charity and the UK and Ireland’s professional association for
those involved in the treatment and care of children with cancer. Each
week in the UK and Ireland, more than 30 children are diagnosed
with cancer. Two out of ten children will not survive their disease.
Over the last 40 years, CCLG has played a key role in the major improvements
in survival rates and the standards of care for children. We bring together
childhood cancer professionals to ensure all children receive the best possible
treatment and care.
There are still some childhood cancers with a poor outlook, and many treatments
can have long-lasting side effects. Further research is therefore vital, and the
ultimate aim of CCLG is to cure as many children as possible while reducing the
short and long-term side effects of treatment. We fund and support research
into childhood cancers, and we help young patients and their families with our
expert, high quality and award-winning information resources.
