Tasks
We are glad to be able to offer master thesis projects in the
area of physics and polymer chemistry. These thesis works
are suitable for students who want work within research and
might plan to proceed to a Ph.D. later on. The thesis works
will be in the area of polymeric dielectrics. Such materials are
used as insulating materials in high voltage transmission.
ABB is one of the global leading companies in power
technology and is continually doing research and
development in this area.
acoustic measurement system to analyze charges in polymer
dielectrics.
Depending of your background you will be given a task for
your master thesis. This means you will investigate a
well-defined problem at ABB Corporate Research in Västerås,
Sweden. If you are interested in computational physics you
will be working with quantum chemistry and/or charge
transport models to investigate a problem in a polymer
system. A polymer chemist will work to prepare polymer
samples to a desired and analyze them with dielectric
measurements. As a physicist you should further develop an

Requirements
We looking for candidates interested in participating in an
ongoing research project studying conductions process in
very weakly conducting polymers. The candidates should
have an interest and a skill above average in one of the areas
of computational physics, polymer chemistry and
measurement physics.
contact for Computational physics track. Welcome with your
application by December 15.
