Exactas, Ingeniería y Agrimensura UNIVERSIDAD NACIONAL DE ROSARIO Facultad Regional Rosario UNIVERSIDAD TECNOLÖGICA NACIONAL SOCIEDAD ARGENTINA DE INFORMATICA E INVESTIGACION OPERATIVA ASAI, the Argentine Symposium on Artificial Intelligence, is an annual event intended to be the main forum of the AI community in Argentina. The symposium aims at providing a forum for researchers and AI community members to discuss and exchange ideas and experiences on diverse topics of Artificial Intelligence. Previous ASAI editions stimulated presentations on both applications of AI and new tools and foundations currently under development. ASAI is organized by the Argentine Society of Informatics and Operations Research (SADIO) (http://www.sadio.org.ar). The Seventh Argentine Symposium on Artificial Intelligence (ASAI 2005) will be held during August 29-30, 2005, at the Ariston Hotel, (Córdoba 2554, TE:+54-(0)341-425-8666, http://webs.satlink.com/usuarios/a/ariston/), in Rosario, Argentina. ASAI 2005 will be part of the 34th JAIIO, the 34th Argentine Meetings on Informatics and Operations Research, organized by SADIO. The JAIIO Meetings will be held between August 29 and September 2, 2005, including six other symposia, tutorials and student contests. Topics of particular interest include (without being limited to): Machine Learning AI Development, Tools and Methods AI Foundations (philosophy, epistemology, economics, etc.) Artificial Life, Virtual Reality Autonomous Agents and Multi-Agent Systems Knowledge Discovery and Data Mining Computer Vision and Pattern Recognition Evolutionary Computation Robotics Hybrid systems (fuzzy, evolutionary, neural, symbolic, etc.) Innovative applications of Artificial Intelligence (Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, Education, Internet, Law, Music) Knowledge Engineering Knowledge Representation and Reasoning Natural Language Processing Speech and Image Processing Biometrics Planning and Scheduling Paper Sumission ASAI 2005 seeks original contributions in a wide spectrum of Artificial Intelligence, ranging from state-of-the-art academic research to industrial and business applications having a significant impact. The symposium will consist of Invited Talks and Regular Paper Sessions presenting both mature work and new ideas in theoretical research and applications. Submissions are due before April 29, 2005. Delayed submissions will most likely be rejected. All papers received before the deadline will be peer-reviewed by referees of the area. The submission of manuscripts must follow the LNCS (Lecture Notes on Computer Science) format (http://www.springer.de/comp/lncs/authors.html). All contributions, of maximum 12-page length, should be submitted as an attachment in an email message, in Ghostview-readable Postscript or PDF formats. For diffusion reasons, papers in English are strongly recommended (Spanish is also acceptable). The following information must be included in the body of the e-mail message: title of the paper, abstract, authors' names and affiliations (including postal address, e-mail address and phone/fax number). Please, specify also the corresponding author, a maximum of five keywords and the main topics (three, at most) the paper is related to. Information on the format of the camera-ready copy will be forwarded together with the acceptance letter. The receipt of a submission will be acknowledged immediately to the corresponding author. Extended versions of selected papers accepted for previous ASAI meetings have been published as special issues in the Revista Iberoamericana de Inteligencia Artificial (edited by the Spanish Association for Artificial Intelligence (http://aepia.dsic.upv.es/revista/). A similar avenue is under consideration for ASAI 2005. Electronic submissions must be sent to [email protected] .
