How to set up your lab book.
Title: Plant vs. Animal Cell
- Problem: How are plant and animal cells different?
- Hypothesis:
Procedure:
1. Look at an animal cell under the microscope.
2. Draw the animal cell.
3. Look at a plant cell under the microscope.
4. Draw the plant cell.
Diagrams – be sure to label the diagrams correctly and use the
correct format for a microscope diagram. If you forgot how to
do a diagram correctly, look in your lab book. USE a Petri dish to
draw the circles!

Analysis: Be sure to answer analysis questions in
complete sentences.
1. How are plant and animal cells similar and
different? You may use a T-chart or a Venn diagram
to write the answer.
2. If you found a slid of a specimen and you wanted
to know if it was a plant or an animal, what would you
look for to indicate it is a plant?
3. What would you look for to indicate it is an
animal?
Write a formal conclusion. If you forgot how to write a
conclusion, follow the directions on the inside of your lab
book cover.
