Note:
1.
Under the Coroners Act 2003 “burial” includes cremation or other lawful disposal, either in Queensland or
elsewhere.
2.
If the body is to be cremated then the provisions of the Cremations Act 2003 must also be complied with. In
particular, if a coroner’s autopsy was conducted, the coroner must issue the permission to cremate under the
Cremations Act 2003.
3.
A copy of this order must be forwarded to the Registrar General, Births, Deaths and Marriages (section 97 of the
Coroners Act 2003).
