Gastric or peptic ulcers are erosions in the stomach or duodenum, which is the first part of the
small intestine.
Possible Causes and Contributing Factors:







Excess or insufficient production of HCL
Biliary and/or pancreatic dysfunction
Bacterial infection (helicobacter pylori)
Pyloric or ileocecal valve dysfunction
Stress (physical or psychological)
Inflammation from food allergy/sensitivity resulting in ulceration
Aspirin abuse, severe trauma or chronic illness
