MY ROLE IN ENVIRONMENT
I have the responsibility to conserve the environment and its
resources sustainably through initiatives like;
•
Practicing the concept of the 3Rs i.e. Reduce, Reuse and
Recycle of waste materials(making briquettes from waste)
•
Practice best farming practices e.g. organic farming and
kitchen gardening, terracing
•
Promotion of energy saving technologies for mitigation of
climate change and human health from indoor air pollution
•
Protecting the environment against degradation e.g. tree
planting, policies, advocacy,

BENEFITS OF CONSERVING THE ENVIRONMENT

It ensures sustainable biodiversity for use now and for future generations

It keeps the environment clean hence preventing diseases and hazards emanating from
environmental destruction

Ensures a sustainable supply of energy source

It ensures constant flow of water in rivers

It helps mitigate the effects of climate change by ensuring that there is reduction of carbon dioxide in
air

Reduces conflicts over natural resources
