Caring For Your Braces
In the beginning your teeth may be sore for the first week or two. You can
offset this soreness by taking over the counter pain medication such as Tylenol,
Advil or Ibuprofen. Eating soft foods will also help with any pain you may
experience.
While your mouth is getting used to the braces you may get sores on your
lips or insides of your cheeks. These are temporary and will fade. To help heal
any sores you can use orthodontic wax, which we provide, and rinse your mouth
with warm salt water. Do not use mouthwash as it will irritate sores further.
Once your teeth are use to your braces there are some foods to avoid or
eat slightly differently.
Hard, chewy, or crunchy foods should be broken or cut into smaller pieces

Keeping everything clean is very important. Brushing after every time you
eat and flossing twice a day is recommended. When brushing you should make
sure you are brushing around the brace to get everything clean.
If ever there is an issue with your braces please make sure to call the office.
We will do our best to get you in for an appointment as soon as possible to make
you comfortable or fix the issue.
