To address climate change, we need to look beyond the transportation sector.
Animal agriculture is one of the leading contributors to climate change, responsible for
approximately 18 percent of global, human-induced greenhouse gas emissions. In addition,
industrial farm animal operations, or “factory farms,” harm public health, jeopardize food
security, and cause immeasurable animal suffering. By supporting sustainable, welfarefriendly farms, and by reducing the amount of meat, eggs, and dairy in our diets,
we can significantly reduce our environmental impact, and create a cooler world.
