Trainee Dental Nurse
We are looking for caring individuals to join our friendly professional team. A career in
dental nursing requires a mature approach, good teamwork skills and an eagerness to
learn.
Granta Dental has an established team of experienced dental nurses who provide the
clinical services and support required for a wide range of dental care and treatments.
There is an ethos of close support and career development integrated with structured
training towards qualification and registration with the General Dental Council.
The core roles of all the practice dental nurses are:

Care of patients when receiving dental treatment

Assisting dentists and hygienists in the surgery

Mixing and preparing materials.

Hygiene and Cross infection control.

Maintenance and cleaning of clinical equipment and instruments.

Preparing and repairing of oral devices, dentures, orthodontic appliances etc.

Informing patients about oral healthcare

Computerised clinical record keeping.

Clinical Audit

Reception duties, handling telephone calls and arranging appointments

General administrative duties as required to ensure the smooth running of the
practice
Qualified, registered dental nurses can progress through further training to roles such as
a dental hygienist or practice manager.
Applicants should have a minimum of 5 A-C grades at GCSE (or equivalent) including
English and Maths.
Full time employment is for 37.5 hours per week arranged between the hours of 7.30am
and 9.00 pm. Clinic times vary from day to day staffed on a regular rota pattern. Please
note, nursing cover may be required on Saturdays.
Part time employment and job share will be considered.
Salary: £13,500 – 14,500 per annum with 20 days paid holiday, which includes Bank
Holidays, training costs, uniform and pension scheme included.
