Sonera Company Internet Quick Guide Sonera Company Internet Quick Guide Sonera Company Internet is a modular Internet service for which a number of supplementary features are available. The service is subject to a fixed monthly charge, so there are no surprises or unexpected extra costs. Quick, easy and cost-efficient! If you have a Microsoft Windows or an Apple computer, the only thing you need to do is plug in the modem to your computer using the network cable provided (the one with yellow connectors). The Internet connection will start automatically if you have not changed the default settings of the computer. WLAN is available only if you ordered it specifically. It allows you to control and view the details of your subscription and order new supplementary services. In case of any network problems, you may also file a fault report using the SurfManager service. To be able to use SurfManager, you need the user name and the password you received when you got the subscription. All the access rates are also available as open without the network firewall service. If the access is ordered as open, please remember to take care of appropriate information security. The service is implemented in a centralized firewall service administered by Sonera. The rules of the network firewall are standard and cannot be changed individually for each subscription. If you have in use the network firewall service, the service is automatically available to you and no other actions are required. Service levels: Maintenance operations are carried out in accordance with the service level chosen. Total number of IP addresses (dynamic, public): A defined IP address space was delivered with the subscription, enabling an equal number of customer devices to be connected to the LAN. 3 Sonera Company Internet Quick Guide Static IP addresses: You were provided with one or several static public IP addresses for the device(s) whose MAC address you indicated when you placed your order. There can be a maximum of four static public IP addresses per subscription. If your LAN requires static public IP addresses, please make sure that: - you have ordered one or several static IP addresses from Sonera, and - you have provided Sonera with the MAC address of the terminal device requiring the IP address. - The device is set to retrieve TCP/IP network settings automatically from the DHCP server. Wireless local area network (WLAN) service: WLAN service is available for Sonera Company Internet subscriptions. The WPA2 encryption key is defined in connection with the order. If you ordered WLAN service, it will be automatically activated as you install and connect the modem. If the WLAN service has not activated within about an hour, please Sonera. When WLAN is active, the modem’s Wireless indicator lamp is on. The WLAN SSID is SoneraInternet. It is standard and cannot be changed. The network key can be found in the order confirmation or the SurfManager management and reporting service. You may also contact Corporate Customer Service.
