Since starting my career as an SLP in 2003, I have remained focused on the dedication of my skills to treat individuals with communicative disorders at varying stages of life. My areas of interest have been primarily in autism and AAC. I have been involved in the autism community as both an educator and an advocate for children and their families. In addition to my professional life, I have also worked as a patient/health advocate for individuals living with various types of autoimmune arthritis. My advocacy work has taken me to Capitol Hill, where I had the opportunity to speak to members of both the Senate and Congress on behalf of The American College of Rheumatology as their Pennsylvania representative. I also cofounded a 501c non‐profit organization called the International Foundation for Autoimmune Arthritis (IFAA) in 2013, and have worked tirelessly to advocate for patients in both Pennsylvania and nationally to improve their access to health care and medications needed for everyday life. I was runner‐up for Wego Health Patient Advocate of 2014 (individually), and I won the award in 2013, as a member of my non‐profit (IFAA).
