Monovalent single vaccine sE.D.S. + N.D.V Bivalent double vaccine sE.D.S. + N.D.V + I.B Trivalent triple vaccine Inactivated, oil emulsion vaccines for the protection of Layers and Breeders against Egg Drop Syndrome, Newcastle Disease and Infectious Bronchitis. (sE.D.S is a subunit of E.D.S virus. ND component is the V.H. clone of Newcastle disease virus. I.B component is the M41 virus of infectious bronchitis) What is the difference between an inactivated, standard whole virus E.D.S and a sub-unit inactivated vaccine? The standard vaccine contains the whole E.D.S. virus grown in duck eggs, whereas the sE.D.S. vaccin contains only the relevant antigen which produces the protective immune response. Phibro Vaccines poultry vaccination experts TM sE.D.S Vaccine Why you should prefer the sE.D.S vaccine? Inactivated Sub-Unit EDS Vaccine The standard vaccine originating from duck eggs may pose a potential risk of contaminant pathogens, since there are no SPF Duck eggs available. This risk is avoided when using the subunit vaccine produced in completely safe systems. How do we monitor the immune response to sE.D.S vaccination? We recommend to use the HI test. This test is more sensitive and can detect low titers and reduce false negative results, compared with the ELISA test. Good perfomance maintained in layers vaccinated with sE.D.S Layers vaccinated with sE.D.S+N.D.V+I.B maintained good antibody levels throughout production cycle of observation against ND, I.B and E.D.S. www.phibro-vaccines.com 1 st and only subunit EDS vaccine sE.D.S Vaccination E. coli expressed Knob proteins Neutralized E.D.S Virus Layer type chickens were vaccinated with sE.D.S + N.D.V + I.B at 5 weeks of age. 20 week later - sera were tested for HI titers and the SN test. The birds were then challenged with 104.6 EID50 of E.D.S 76 virus. Birds were sacrificed 4 days later. Virus re-isolation was done by using cloacal swabs and spleen homogenates inoculated into the chorio-allantoic cavity of 10 day old duck embryos. SPF layers were vaccinated at 16 weeks of age with sE.D.S+N.D.V+I.B and kept under commercial conditions. The layers were monitored for antibody titers at 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 8 months post vaccination and for weekly egg production from 20 weeks of age onward. A non-vaccinated group of SPF layers served as controls. Full protection against the E.D.S 76 field virus was shown in vaccinated chickens as demonstrated by the high antibody level and high neutralization index compared to the un-vaccinated controls. The challenge virus was completely absent in the vaccinated chickens, whereas it was re-isolated from spleens and cloaca of the control group.
