Intro
Three types: Reform, Revolution, Coup d’etats
Radicalism- Belief in rapid, dramatic changes needed to be made in
existing society
Liberalism- Supports reform and gradual change rather than revolution
Conservatism- Is much less supportive of change in general than are
radicalism and liberalism
Reactionary Beliefs- Go further to protect against change tan
conservative beliefs, and will “turn back the clock” to an earlier era.

Marketization- The privatization of markets in an economy
Fragmentation- Divisions based on ethnic or cultural identity
Gradualism- a policy of gradual reform rather than sudden
change or revolution. The hypothesis that evolution proceeds
chiefly by the accumulation of gradual changes.
Noblesse Oblige- The obligation of honorable, generous, and
responsible behavior associated with high rank or birth

Great reform act of 1832- About 300,000 more men gained

Reform act of 1867- Electorate reached three million and
many working class people were allowed the right to
vote.

Comparative Advantage- Leads to lower prices for consumers
Shifting Sectors- leads to specialization in other areas
Increased Competition- Help reduce costs and prices for firms
Migration- Can let more migrants to come and start working. But, can stress
U.K. housing due to net migration of people in U.K.
Global Economic Cycle- Affected negatively by other countries financial crisis’
