Background
 Persephone is the goddess of the Underworld and spring
growth
 She is married to Hades the god of the Underworld
 Persephone is the daughter of Demeter and Zeus or of
Zeus and Styx
 Her kids are Zagreus and Melinoe by Zeus and The
Erinyes by Hades
Claim to Fame
 Persephone became the goddess of the Underworld when Hades
seized her and forced her to be his queen and stay in the Underworld
for 6 moths a year.
 Persephone is goddess of spring growth for the other half of the
year.
 Persephone’s allies are any of the Olympic gods/goddesses and the
Underworld people
 Persephone hated Minthe a nymph because this nymph slept with
her husband Hades and Persephone turned Minthe into dust and
Minthe bloomed into a mint plant.

Persephone had no downfall
because she is a goddess so she
doesn’t die
