CTX Line Power Unit II The Line Power Unit II (LPU II) is the next generation power system for ION DigiRANGE II™ CTX acoustic devices. The LPU II provides a communications interface between the Positioning Control System (PCS) Line Interface Unit (LIU) and the CTX while providing 48 VDC power. The LPU II splits a single LIU FSK channel into seven channels. Six channels combine 48 VDC with FSK communications to power the CTX units. One channel serves as a pass through to link up to 5 LPUs, providing power and communications for up to 30 CTX units. SYSTEM ENHANCEMENTS → FSK communication ports are electrically isolated from each other → If leakage occurs or the signal is loaded down on one channel, the remaining channels’ signal level will not be degraded → Independent amplifiers for each channel and COM OUT port ensure consistent signal levels → Shielded 3 pin communication connectors on all FSK signal enhance noise reduction → 3 pin connectors enable easier cable swapping → Test points measure DC voltage levels and FSK communication signals Physical Characteristics Width 17 inches Depth 21.75 inches Height 5.25 inches Electrical Characteristics Input voltage 104-132 VAC Input with voltage selector switch set at 120 VAC 191-242 VAC Input with voltage selector switch set at 220 VAC Input Frequency (47 - 63 Hz) Note: De-rate output current 10% for 50 Hz operation Line power output Unit is equipped with 6 isolated FSK/Power outputs with each line capable of: 48 VDC ± 2.5 V 500 mA max continuous current Ripple 3.0mV pk-pk plus 0.02% of output voltage max Recommended wire Twisted pair 22 AWG minimum gauge size.
