Notice of Open Position May 20, 2016 Job Title: Posting Number: Department: Assistant Director/Senior System Engineer AOF-64-14-0516-V Information Technology Position Summary: The assistant director serves as a senior systems engineer and is responsible for the enterprise server and SAN administration, enterprise print technologies, Citrix administration and network administration support. The assistant director also provides lead support for performance monitoring and diagnostic tools on servers, as well as administration of the organization’s backup and recovery for servers and data. The incumbent will also be responsible for conducting research into software issues and products and is a key participant in problem-solving and capacity planning for future organizational needs. Position Responsibilities: Primary Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Secondary Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Unit: Supervisor: Annual Salary: AFTSU Director, Information Technology $104,032.13 Provide an efficient patch management system and schedule for the data center and work with CWPS (vendor) for all technology firmware or software upgrades. Monitor servers and SANs security to ensure a protected software/data environment. Assist network engineers as needed to ensure maximum network/system up-time. Support printer servers and enterprise print technologies. Manage and configure servers, SANs and related technologies. Provide second level support for mobile computing devices such as handhelds and laptops. Provide general support for enterprise applications, desktops, laptops and related hardware. Configure and maintain Active Directory and Citrix environment. Manage performance monitoring tools and load testing software. Function as technical lead for EMC SAN, Data Gravity SAN and other Storage Array Networks. Provide operational support to AFT TEACH, biennial Conventions and other AFT meetings. Be available for rotational on-call assignments. Manage and maintain all system backups and disaster recovery technology. Manage, configure and keep current MS Exchange email. Virtualize physical servers to virtual servers and maintain performance. Manage and configure MS Active Directory, DNS, DHCP and Domain Controllers. Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, related field and/or relevant experience is required. Minimum of five years’ experience in the configuration and administration of Windows servers including substantial knowledge of Active Directory, Exchange 2010 or higher, Windows print technologies and their integration with Citrix. Extensive knowledge of VMware 5x and higher (vsphere), VCenter, VMotion. Familiarity with System architectures, Wi-Fi, Cisco and IP protocols. Knowledge of integration of Apple technologies into a Windows server environment. Ability to function collaboratively within a fast-paced, service-oriented team. Demonstrated ability to prioritize and execute tasks in a demanding environment. Some travel is required. Experience working in a union environment is preferred.
