There are some reports dealing with intravesical BCG for the treatment of T2 bladder cancer. See for example the paper by Volkmer et al, Journal of Urology, 169, 931-935, March 2003. Some of the references in this paper will also be of interest. Intravesical chemotherapy will almost certainly be less effective than intravesical BCG in T2 disease although there are no studies to formally prove this. Such is the case for intermediate and high risk patients with stage Ta and T1 disease where it has been shown that intravesical BCG is more effective than intravesical chemotherapy.
