The terrain of Hungary
Our language is Hungarian
 Is it Slavic?
 Maybe German?
 Or Turkish???
The truth:
It’s Finno-Ugric.
.
Our closest relatives are small tribes in Siberia. The
Finns are our relatives too but we don’t understand
each other. Only linguists can find any similarities
between the two languages.
The Hungarian national anthem
 The text of the Hungarian national
anthem was written in 1823 by Ferenc
Kölcsey (1790-1838).
 The music was composed by the
composer and conductor Ferenc Erkel
(1810-1893) in 1844.
 Only the first stanza is normally played or
sung on official occasions.
