Chapter 5 Agenda
The end of the semester exam will
follow this chapter!
Happy Friday!
November 1st, 2013
• Warm Up: Review of circumcenters and incenters!
• Class work: Page 329 Exercises 9-31 odd, 41, 48, 55-58
all, 60
• Homework: watch 5-2 video. Focus ?’s:
– Define Median of a triangle, Centroid of a triangle, and
the Centroid Theorem. Give an example of how to find
side lengths using the Centroid Theorem.
– Define Altitude of a triangle and explain how it relates to
the Orthocenter of a triangle.
• Copy the Table on page 339 in your book to
keep all of your new theorems straight
Monday, November 4th, 2013
• 5-2 Warm Up: p334 Median and Altitude
Constructions

• Warm up: 5-1 / 5-2 Quiz
• Class work: Watch 5-3 video. Focus:
– Define and give an example of the Exterior
Angle Inequality
– Explain angle / side inequalities and how you
can use the relationships to order side lengths
or angle measures from greatest to least.
November 6th, 2013
• 5-3 Warm Up: Discussion with old school visual
• Class work: Page 348 Exercises 9-21 (multiples of 3),
23, 24-36 (multiples of 3), 39, 46, 49-52, 55
• Homework: (skip 5-4) Watch 5-5 videos, answer focus
questions
– What is the Triangle Inequality Theorem?
– How do we tell if 3 given side lengths will form a triangle?
– If we know 2 of the 3 side lengths of a triangle, how can we find
the range of possible lengths for the third side?
For Review – Exterior Angle Thm
What angles are greater than the
blue angle?
What angle(s) less than angle 4?
Write the sides from greatest to
smallest
Write sides from smallest to largest
Write angles from least to greatest
measure
Write angles from greatest to least
measure
From your notes:
