RESIST
2-0-2 Plant Defense Initiator
Plants, especially turfgrass, are constantly under siege by environmental stresses and other factors which
impede their development and growth. Similar to other organisms, plants have built-in defense systems to
combat this stress. Certain compounds have been shown to “turn on” or initiate these defense mechanisms
artificially in anticipation of future stress. This initiation of plant defenses not only bolsters the plant against future
stress events, but it also triggers a series of beneficial events within the plant. This triggering effect has been
demonstrated to increase root development and increase yields in agronomic crops. This process is called SAR
(Systemic Acquired Resistance).
Resist is a high amino acid content fertilizer with
compounds specifically selected for their ability
to initiate SAR responses in plants. The specific
source of amino acids in Resist is fungal derived and
contains compounds called oligosaccharides. These
oligosaccharides are the specific triggering mechanism
which initiates the SAR response in plants. The amino
acid rich active ingredients in Resist also serve as
a potent food source for native soil microbes. This
stimulating effect on soil microbes has direct positive
impact on root zone productivity and root development.
SAR triggered plants tend to demonstrate increased
rooting and resistance to stress. Applications of Resist
have been demonstrated to ameliorate off-color turf
and assist in the prevention of turf decline. Stress
resistance is increased and turf quality is improved.
BENEFITS FOR YOUR TURF:
AMINO ACIDS:
• Increased protein and chlorophyll production
• Increased carbohydrate reserves
• Food source for microbes
OLIGOSACCHARIDES:
• Triggers SAR (Systemic Acquired Resistance)
• Increased stress resistance
• Stimulates root development and yields
POTASSIUM ACETATE:
• Maximum foliar absorption (up to 5 times the
foliar absorption over other forms of potassium
