A&E Specification
General Description of AV Controller
o
The Controller shall provide facilities for automatic remote control of the
following functions: source selection (computer or video player); control of video
display or projector on/off; and control of auxiliary functions such as screen
up/down
o
The Controller shall offer automatic detection of an HDMI source on either of two
HDMI inputs.
o
The Controller shall offer an input priority option which selects the last source
connected as the active input.
Functionality
o
The Controller shall turn on a projector and select the input when an HDMI
source is detected at either input.
o
The Controller shall be configurable for volume control and mute on an audio
amplifier controllable via RS-232 or IR through the I/O ports.
o
Operating functions of the Controller shall be configured using associated Project
Editor Software for PC, with configuration downloaded to the Controller through
a USB connector.
o
The Project Editor software shall provide a complete driver database for more
than 2,000 AV devices.
o
The Project Editor software shall save configurations as presets which may be
downloaded into multiple Controllers. The same preset shall accommodate
different devices, such as different models of video displays or projectors.
o
The Controller shall have an internal clock which can be programmed for auto
power off after a specified interval, or in conjunction with an external PIR
motion sensor for auto power off after a specified interval following no activity in
the room.

Connections
o
A USB port shall be provided with access at one of the sides of the controller. The
mating connector shall be USB mini-B 5P.
o
The Power, Communications and I/O ports shall utilize Euroblock connectors
with mating screw terminal blocks.
o
The HDMI inputs and outputs shall accept HDMI type A connectors.
o
The Communication port shall be configurable for RS-232 (Tx) data or for IR
signal via an external IR emitter.
o
The Input/Output ports shall be configurable as an Input or an Output. As an
Input, low sensing threshold shall be <1 VDC and high sensing threshold shall be
>4 VDC. As an output, the type shall be open drain with a maximum voltage of
+24 VDC and maximum current of 0.5 A.
o
The power connector shall accept 12 VDC 100 mA from an external power
supply.
Options
o The Controller shall offer a System lock option.
o The Controller shall offer an external PIR motion sensor option.
Physical
o
The Controller shall have dimensions as follows: width 70 mm, height 125 mm
and depth 25 mm.
o
The Controller shall weigh 0,100 kg.
o
The Controller shall have four mounting holes.
Conformity
o
The Controller shall be approved for use as specified by CE and conform to EN
55022 and EN 55024 standards.
