Clinical Laboratory Scientists (CLS) and
Clinical Laboratory Technicians are the
healthcare professionals who perform most
laboratory tests.

Clinical laboratory scientists (medical
technologists) perform laboratory tests on
patient samples to provide information
needed to diagnose disease or monitor
treatment. Examples of common laboratory
tests include tests to detect anemia,
diagnose diabetes or strep throat, or doing
blood typing tests to provide a transfusion
to an accident victim.
