MarCom® IP integrated communication system
Bringing Situational Awareness to the Maritime User
MarCom provides an affordable, user-friendly replacement for the myriad of communication
systems installed in traditional Naval and Coast Guard platforms. A single terminal provides
access to all internal and external sources intuitively bringing information directly to those
who need it.
Product Description
L-3 builds its communication systems using flexible integration products and appropriate commercial
network equipment. Most important is a robust set of tactical feature software and interfacing
hardware capable of creating an interoperable environment using military and commercial systems;
ISDN, POTS, and VoIP; legacy and state-of-the-art. These systems provide intercom, nets,
conferences, announcing, radio, cellular, telephony, shore access, and excomm circuit
automation.
benefits

•Enables the whole platform to become more responsive to mission needs
•Puts the user in control to monitor as much information as he or she needs
•Flexibly interoperates with virtually any other communication system with only a
single user terminal per position
•Rapidly sets up and tears down connectivity and conferencing at the push of a button
•Enables reduction of manpower, the largest operating cost element for any platform
•Ensures evolution from legacy to all IP without replacing the comm system
Applications
