It shall be totally enclosed prelacquered galvanized steel sheet with copper conductors; suitable for a 3 phase 4 wire 400 volts system with full neutral and continuous internal copper earth bar of half size similar to the Telemecanique Canalis range. The system shall be complete with all necessary fittings, tap-off unit brackets, etc. All busbar trunking fittings (elbow, tees, end Cable Tap Box, etc.) shall be IP52 in accordance to IEC 529 and from the same manufacturer as the busbar trunking system. The busbar trunking system shall be capable of being mounted in any position without derating. Feeder sections shall be interchangeable without the use of special adapter joint covers. The complete installation shall be coordinated throughout and where possible, shall consist of standard 4m sections with special sections and fittings provided to suit the installation. Horizontal runs of busbar trunking system shall be supported by hangers at every 3 meters. Vertical runs of busbar trunking system shall be supported by hangers not more than 4m apart. Busbar trunking system shall be terminated by ‘end closure’. 2. Conformity To Standard It shall be constructed in accordance with the applicable requirements of the latest IEC 439 Part 1 and Part 2. Verification of fire barrier in accordance of the latest ISO 834 Resistance to flame propagation conforming IEC 60332 Part 3. Resistance of the materials to abnormal heat conforming IEC 60695 Part 2. 3. Environment The busbar trunking system shall be suitable for continuous operation without derating at an average ambient temperature of 35o C for 24h (40°C maximum). 4. Conductors Conductors shall be of hard drawn 99.9% purity copper Cu-ETP. Copper live conductors shall be insulated by 4 layers of class “B” 130°C halogen free polyester. Full size neutral of the same cross-sectional area as the phase conductor shall be provided for all ratings of the busbar trunking system. The busbar trunking system shall have the following characteristics: Paint Finish Rated Insulation Voltage (A/C) Rated Operating Voltage (A/C) Frequency 5. : : : : RAL 7032 1000 Volts 1000 Volts 50Hz Protective Conductor Integral continuous internal copper conductor of cross-section area equal to 50% that of the corresponding phase conductor shall be provided. 6. Short Circuit Capacity Last update :09-05-17 -3- Technical specification for tender 582770456 The whole busbar trunking system shall be capable of withstanding the short circuit capacity of the electrical installation without damaging the electrical, mechanical and thermal stress under fault condition at a service voltage of 400V 50Hz. Co-ordination of the distribution should be guarenteed such that the Circuit breaker / trunking combination will limit the peak current to a value less than the rated peak current of the busbar trunking. 7. Temperature Rise The maximum hot-spot temperature rise at any point in the busbar at continuous rated load shall not exceed 40o C above the maximum ambient temperature of 35o C in any position. 8. Expansion Joint Busbar expansion units shall be use in cases recommended by the vendor to reduce the stress on the system by differential expansion between the busbars and the casing, particularly for long run of the busbar. 9. Joints All busbar joints shall of be silver plated copper. The electrical joints shall be of one bolt type designed for even distribution of contact pressure and with inspection covers provided on each side of the joint and can be dismantled to facilitate removal or extension. The joints shall be so designed as to allow removal of any length without disturbing adjacent lengths. 10. Enclosure The metal enclosure of the busbar trunking system shall be of 1 mm thick hot dip galvanized sheet steel to provide high protection and mechanical resistance for the phase conductors along the entire length. Resistance to corrosion shall meet the following test : Tropical test : 1000 hours Salted Marine Fog : 360 hours Both vertical and horizontal runs of busbar trunking system shall be of degree of protection to IP 52. The enclosure shall be made of four steel sections assembled by clinching. In order to limit magnetic field around the busbar system, aluminium enclosures are not acceptable. 11. Tap-off units Tap-off units shall be from the same manufacturer as the busbar trunking system and shall be provided with off-load isolator suitable for fuses or circuit breakers according to ratings as indicated in the drawings. All circuit breakers used shall be able to operate normally when mounted upside down or at any angles. The tap-off units shall also have the provision to mount the earth fault relay together with the breaker. Tap-off units shall be of dust and damp proof version, degree of protection IP 54 and shall be suitably earthed. The tap off unit shall be bolted at the joints between two elements, and shall be designed to accept one MCCB. The MCCB used in the tap-off unit must comply with IEC 947-2. All MCCBs shall have a rated service breaking capacity(Ics) of RMS value at 400VAC equal or higher than the prospective fault level of installation. It shall have current limiting capabilities to protect the busbar trunking system and co-ordination table shall be furnished by manufacturer. Last update :09-05-17 -4- Technical specification for tender 582770456 The tap-off unit shall have an interlock which prevents the cover from being opened while the device is in the ‘ON’ position and to prevent accidental closing of the device when the cover is opened.
